Fruit and Vegetable Gardening for Beginners
Discover the ins and outs of starting your own allotment or vegetable garden. On arrival you will receive a theory session and advice on soil, bed preparation and planning your garden. Next you will receive a practical session which involves digging a bed, seed sowing a seed tray of vegetable seeds with compost and a growing plant in a small pot which you will take home at the end, crop planting, composting, watering, plant care and weeding. After youve worked up an appetite, enjoy a hearty and homemade two course lunch. The afternoon session begins with a talk on relevant seasonal and specialist topics such as herbs, salad crops, soft fruit and asparagus beds. You will review your original garden designs from the morning and there will also be a question and answer session to finish off. Complimentary coffee, tea and cake will help keep you going throughout the day.
